About this event:
MCYU encourages young learners and their families to explore the life and discoveries of a pioneer in Canadian Science, Gerhard Herzberg. Dr. Herzberg, a Nobel laureate in chemistry, is a founding father of molecular spectroscopy – the science of understanding how molecules “behave”.
In collaboration with Defining Moments Canada, the German Embassy and McMaster University – MCYU invites families to explore the life of an innovator in Canadian Science through a scavenger hunt (and win prizes). Create a spectrometer and learn how light signals can be used to translate the language of molecules.
Ages: 7–14 (whole family welcome)
Cost: FREE
