McMaster University is proud to be one of 13 North American universities participating in the EcoCAR EV Challenge, North America’s premier collegiate automotive engineering competition.


This four-year competition challenges teams to apply advanced propulsion systems, automation and vehicle connectivity technologies to the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ—all while balancing energy efficiency, decarbonization and customer-centric design.


Through providing students with interactive training, industry presentations and hours of real-world hands-on experience, the McMaster EcoCAR team helps build the next generation of engineers to address the future of mobility.
